“Boris can flat out drive–anything”

I found a great article that just popped up arguing for Boris Said to get more ride time. Check it out here…Boris should be given a shot at the big time
This article seems to point out the arguments we’ve all been making. It really makes you wonder what’s holding a sponsor and a team back. He’s much more proven than a dirt track rook.

While I agree Boris deserves a better shot than he has gotten so far, I’m also aware any sponsor with long term ambitions in NASCAR will in fact go with a “dirt track rook” as opposed to a vet with relativly little stock car experiance.
It’s sad in a way, but true.
Not too many drivers in NASCAR are really coming from the dirt track anymore. NASCAR is seeing a large influx of drivers from the open-wheel world; whether it be IRL, Champ Car, or F1….drivers such as Dario Franchitti, AJ Allmendinger, and Juan Pablo Montoya are all examples of this influx. Including Villenueve and Carpentier this year, NASCAR is distancing itself from its dirt track origins.
But yes, a sponsor may not be as inclined with Boris, as they would with Kasey Kahne. We’ll have to wait and see. Boris has been able to get a lot of sponsors in his tenure, such as Dollar General, Kmart, Valvoline, No Fear, and with 7-11…it can only lead to a full schedule..eventually.
