According to a press release…

Boris Said’s No Fear Racing team will not attempt to run this weekend at Talladega. Said was running in the top 10 in Mexico City when he got caught up in a wreck on a restart with less than 30 laps to go. “We can’t really turn our program around (in a short amount of time), and we’re just not ready,” Said says. “We’ve only got three people working in our shop.” No Fear Racing’s next Sprint Cup attempt will be the road course event in June at Infineon Raceway. Said then will try to make the July race at Daytona, followed by the August road course race at Watkins Glen and the October race at Talladega. Said also plans to have his team field a car for all three Nationwide Series road course events. . . .

Sorry, no time this week for an extensive writeup on this article…

I was amazed that he only has a three man shop crew…somehow I guess I expected at least five or six. Its amazing that they have the capability that they do with only three guys in there.

Edit: The decision not to run this race is NOT a result of the wreck at Mexico City. This news was announced before that race.

I am amazed that someone who only drives part time but has his popularity does not have a full time ride. He is also very good with getting this sponsors plug in. I look at some of the other driver who are out there like Kvpil, Sauter, Mayfield, and Riggs, and just think Boris is a better choice. I hope he does not miss the race next week. He does not race that many so it is nice to see him race when he gets the chance.

Boris needs to move to North Carolina. I think there are a few boys that live around here who would help him out.

If I was a billionaire, or suddenly had the money to start a NASCAR team, the first thing I would do is get Boris in a competitive ride for a full time gig. I would be willing to believe that he would be great with a competitive car and garage team.

Boris’s No Fear Racing team is based out of North Carolina. His compound is close to Roush-Fenway and also to Yates Racing, which has a technical and marketing alliance with Roush-Fenway. The decision of him having only three people working there is due to the fact that it is a part-time gig. Roush gives him a lot of help, so they don’t need a bigger staff all the time…..just on weekends for pit crew, etc.

In regards to other drivers like Sauter, Mayfield, Riggs, or Kvapil…they just have more stock car experience than Boris does. A sponsor and a team would rather stand beside a person that has practiced and trained more in minor leagues for Nascar, than what Boris has done before.
