Preview of 2009

The 2009 Sprint Cup/Nationwide Series season plans for Boris Said are practically an unknown at this point. It seems that Boris is participating minimally with Roush-Fenway or Yates Racing, as his No Fear team has merged with the previous EM-Motorsports team. This has created a new team under the banner of Carter-Simo Racing. EM-Motorsports only qualified for one Sprint Cup race in 2008, with the journeyman driver of Johnny Sauter. The car that Boris will be using for the Daytona 500 was still prepped by Roush-Yates and didn’t have a connection with EM.
Boris may have had to pursue other opportunities outside of the Roush-Yates camp, due to many additions in that camp. Yates Racing has completed an acquisition of Hall of Fame Racing and has added previous champion Bobby Labonte to their stable. After the 2009 season, NASCAR is requiring all teams to have only 4 cars. Roush-Fenway currently has 5 cars and may send one of its cars to the Yates/Hall of Fame team. This would essentially eliminate Boris’s #60 Ford.
As stated, Boris will be competing for an unknown number of races under the Carter-Simo Racing Banner driving the #08 Ford Fusion. Boris was able to garner sponsorship dollars for the Daytona 500 with Scotts Miracle-Gro and also with associate sponsors; U.S. Chrome, Frigidaire, and No Fear Energy. Boris qualified 6th fastest of the “Go or Go Home” cars for the 500 and will be trying to race his way in on Thursday, Feb. 12th in the Gatorade Duels.
At this point, Boris has not stated any Nationwide races in which he’ll participate. Keep referring to The UnOfficial Boris Said Fan Site for any updates!!!
