Why Boris Deserves a Full Time Ride

Boris Said: career part-timer. But who understands why? I wonder if even Boris himself understands why. I certainly don’t. Boris deserves a full-time ride if not based on his credentials and racing abilities then on his cult-like fan base.
Fans love the Boris Said personality and outlook on life. It appears to the fans that Boris is just a regular guy in a racing suit, not a supreme being of the racing world who is esteemed to another level of humanity like many of the other Nascar drivers. He is a regular guy that we can relate to, understand, and appreciate. Said Heads have been around for several years now and I’m surprised that they haven’t gotten more press. Some rich guy somewhere has to realize the potential for marketing that Boris Said has. He already has dedicated fans across the country eager to buy up shirts, wigs, and diecast collectibles and he only runs a few races per year. And besides that…he’s a good driver.
Okay, so don’t hire him on your team just because the fans like him. So you’re the team owner and you say a driver has to be competitive in races and win. Well you already know he?s going to do well on the road courses; those are his specialty. You know he’s good enough to compete on oval tracks; he did it at Daytona this year. Just road courses alone, he’ll probably get a top ten finish on each barring some unfortunate circumstance or a crappy car. Heck he finished 3rd this past weekend in Mexico City even though his car had nothing to give at the end and was put together so shatty that the shifting knob fell off.
I can hear the critics now…’he’s too old to become full time now’ and ‘he just won’t be able to compete against the great drivers today.’ Well I’m here to tell you to give him a shot. Even if he doesn’t win, there is potential to make millions selling merchandise. There is money to be made with the Boris Said name, but apparently no one important enough has realized that yet.
Really, I hope the line that I started this article with proves not to be true in the end. I think Boris deserves a full-time cup season. Give him a steady team and ride and he has a chance to be great. Boris Said: Nascar legend.
